August, 2022  Gathering of the Classics, Edenvale

The Covid pandemic has been a difficult time for the Edenvale Classic Aircraft Foundation (ECAF), both economically and through attrition.  At a recent Directors Meeting, a motion was accepted to move ahead with planning to hold the “Gathering of the Classics” in mid-August 2022 (actual date TBA).  They badly need assistance to help with volunteers to run this event.

If you plan to visit Edenvale, “The Hangar” Restaurant is no longer in operation, and parking is not free outside the fence!  They are beginning to get together on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm going forward, with work in hangar F on the classic aircraft, in preparation for flights once again.  Looking forward to sunshine and fair weather very soon and the start of flying once again!

The public is welcome to stop by for a visit to ECAF, view their aircraft, and learn about the restoration of the fleet of aircraft.  ECAF also welcomes new volunteers and pilots who are qualified to fly their aircraft.

They are expecting well over 1,100 British Cars, great vendors, wonderful anniversary cars spanning 3 years and much more.  They have had to make a modest increase to the car registration pricing this year by $5 - the first change since 2010 - to cover ever increasing costs.

Approx. one way distance from Collingwood = 155 kms.

The 37th British Car Day is not far away and is scheduled for Sunday 18 September 2022 at Bronte Creek Provincial Park off Burloak Drive in Oakville.   If you haven’t already, please include this important date in your calendar and mention it in communications with your fellow LBC owners.

“Fast lane”, our BCD pre-registration, is now available at https://torontotriumph.com/BCD/reg/registration.html and will be open until Friday 9th September.

We have had to make a modest increase to our car registration pricing this year by $5 - the first change since 2010 - to cover ever-increasing costs.    Pre-registration through FASTLANE is a great way to save money ($20 versus $25 at the gate).  In addition, you will save time by driving through the FASTLANE where you will pick-up an excellent programme together with a voting card and dash plaque.   Those paying cash at the gate will have to sign-in at our registration desk which is where you will collect your programme etc.    Motorbike pricing remains at $10 when pre-registering and has increased to $15 at the gate.

Once you have successfully completed the FASTLANE process you will immediately receive a PayPal auto receipt in your e-mail which is proof that your registration has been received.   We will send you a PDF of your window card via e-mail which you will need to print out and display when entering the park.  NOTE: We prepare the window cards in batches of 50 so you won’t necessarily receive it immediately, but please be patient - your card WILL arrive in plenty of time for the show!   By pre-registering your car will be eligible to win the Long Distance Award, a special recognition for those of you driving exceptional distances to be at British Car Day,

If you prefer to pay at the gate the cost is $25 per car and $15 for a motorbike and to save time on the day you can download the registration form available at http://www.torontotriumph.com/suite/list/links.php?id=104 complete it and bring it along to the show
